Joshua Fuder

NAFEX Director and Moderator

Josh Fuder is an Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Agent for the University of Georgia, serving Cherokee County north of Atlanta. Josh is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and holds a B.S. in Horticulture and Landscape Architecture and M.S in International Studies. Following graduation, he served as a US Peace Corps volunteer in Vanuatu. Josh spent three years on the outer island of Ambae working on community development projects in agro-forestry, solar energy, disaster management, and cultural preservation.

After the Peace Corps he worked as the Deputy Director of the Conservation Society of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia. In Pohnpei he met his wife, Amanda, an Atlanta native who was serving as a Peace Corps volunteer. They returned to Georgia together in 2013. Josh was instrumental in establishing the new Heritage Apple Orchard at UGA’s Georgia Mountain Research & Education Center in the North Georgia mountains.

At home he is a hobby grower and fermenter of fruit, berries, muscadines and vegetables. The Fuder clan includes wife Amanda, son Graham, daughters Daisy and Daphne, garden dog Shelby, nuisance housecat Theodore, 1-4 hives of bees depending on the day, and five bins of approximately 20,000 red wiggler worms.
