Nahla Bassil

Dr. Nahla Victor Bassil is a Plant Geneticist with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) – Agricultural Research Service (ARS) – National Clonal Germplasm Repository (NCGR) in Corvallis, Oregon. She received her BS from the American University of Beirut in 1984, and her MS and PhD at Oregon State University in 1989 and 1994, respectively. Since starting her position at the NCGR in 2002, her primary research focus has been DNA marker development and applications to germplasm management and diversity evaluation in plants, with an emphasis on temperate fruits and nuts.
